800 Wins

Yet another great basketball coach has reached the mileston of 800 wins. Stringer joins the ranks of Summit and Conradt at 800. Of course we still can’t forget that Pat Summit is still the best considering she is not only the winningest coach in women’s basketball but of all NCAA basketball.

Great accomplishment though

Brandi Chastain update

It’s always nice to read a new article about our favorite 1999 World Cup player, Brandi Chastain. It addresses several things from her still wanting to play to the goalie controversy this past world cup.

Play again? Come on the run has been good, leave it.

Best Softball Fans

The University of Alabama has sold the last available season ticket seat at 1,595 seats. Last year University of Alabama softball was 3rd in attendance in comparison to all other D1 softball teams. Another thing pointed out in the article that I didn’t realize was that Alabama is returning 9 starters! Anyone want to put bets down on who’s going to make it to the final?

Who’s the highest earning?

adaven.jpgSo what woman’s athlete do you think has brought in $21,897,501? Mia Hamm maybe? One of the William’s sisters?

It’s Lindsay Davenport! Yes, the Lindsay Davenport that just came back to Tennis after taking time off to have a child and has flirted with the idea of retiring for years.

CONCACAF Olympic Qualifiers

alloyd.jpgU.S. is in group A which also contains Jamaica and Mexico. The top two teams from this group will continue to play the top two teams from group B. Who’s in group B you ask? Well Canada, Costa Rica, and Trinidad & Tobago of course. The winners will then go on to the Olympics.

My guess is Group a top 2 will be U.S. and Mexico. They will go up against Canada and Trinidad & Tobago. Then the U.S. and Canada will continue to the Olympics.

Alana Beard 4 Year deal

AlanaAlana Beard has signed a new 4 year contract with the Washington Mystics. Mystics’s general manager Hargrove said “[They] are thrilled to be able to sign Alana to a long term deal…” They better be thrilled, without Alana the team would be dependent on only DeLisha Milton-Jones. With the draft right around the corner you’d think they might get some more play makers, but with Washington getting the 6th pick I find it doubtful unless they pull some nice trades or pick-ups.
